In The New Digital Age: Reshaping the Future of People, Nations and Business, authors Eric Schmidt and Jared Cohen write, “By 2025, the majority of the world’s population will, in one generation, have gone from having virtually no access to unfiltered information, to accessing all of the world’s information through a device that fits in the palm of the hand”.  All of this ‘stuff’ needs a place to live.  This session will highlight the University of Minnesota Libraries' effort to find a solution and will focus primarily on the need for reaching a consensus on how to manage these disparate materials. It will explore such questions as why we need to manage content in a centralized way, what challenges we will face finding common solutions for the various groups, what kind of content will there be and what needs does it have, and why is this a role for libraries.

I've become a big fan of sketchnoting or visual note taking and am interested in learning more and practicing this with others. I am also a big believer in the power of play to produce creative learning environments.
